Staying In The Background - Guest Designer

Hello there friends!

It´s with pleasure that I share my post today since I´m a guest designer for the current challenge "Staying in the Background" on The Funkie Junkie Botique Blog. Cec is the hostress and this is what she says:

My challenge to you is to create your own background and use it in a shabby chic or vintage project - no pre-printed patterned paper this time. You can create the background in any number of ways and it can be simple or intricate. Using embossing folders. stencils, dies, stamps, washi tape, paints, inks or a gel press are just a few ideas. Make sure you give a brief description of how you created your background in your post.

For my background I decided to use a fairly simple embossing technique that works for almost all styles. First I stamped leaves and clear embossed them on watercolor paper, then I sponged over Distress inks and stamped more leaves. I also added paint and water splatters.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum paper in black and clear embossed it too.

I have used:
Stamps: CraftEmotions/Orchid,vases and bottle, Altenew/Beautiful Day (sentiment)
Media: Ranger/Distress ink, Clear Embossing pouder
Other: Martha Stewart Border Punch, Vellum, Lace with Pearls, Foam Tape

As I said, this is a simple technique that always gives good results and should not be forgotten when so many new products are launched, I think.

For more inspiration, please visit the challenge and the design team's creations in the original post HERE.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit
